  Monica Marini   Yoga Teacher will be teaching on our Samacitta Retreat  23 to 30 June, 2018  at  La Rosa dei 4 Venti  - a divine venue set in the Puglian countryside of Italy, near a town called Martina Franca - with a pool and a beautiful yoga shala space set within 15 hectares of beautiful landscape.     Monica has been practicing, studying and developing her understanding of yoga for more than 20 years.   She has developed a uniquely, creative teaching style and approach to practice for people of all yoga levels from beginners to the more advanced student.  Known as   YogaMorphic  , Monica’s practice offers focused, caring guidance towards a safe, yet dynamic practice.  With focus on the therapeutic application of asana (physical posture) and pranayama (breath regulation) for an integrated experience of the body-mind and using principles of Vinyasa Krama (effective and safe sequencing) to inform the asana sequencing  - the result is a strong and energising practice.    Her approach to the postural practice of Hatha Yoga is infused with the clarity and precision of the Iyengar method to offer students the opportunity to experience for themselves how Yoga can restore physical and mental wellbeing.   Katrina Johnston  Bodyworker, Hatha Yoga Teacher & Holistic Coach & Retreat Organiser/Host &  Founder  of  Samacitta Retreats   Growing up in South East Asia, in Hong Kong and Singapore, & also living in Bali, Goa, Scotland & London and now in Italy, Katrina had a fascination with the art of touch since childhood, although she did not believe in her healing touch until she was in her mid 30s.    Katrina trained in AyurYogic bodywork in 2005 and later in 2007 in AyurBalance massage at Rasovai Ayurveda in Goa. Teaching originates from Pune master teacher Kusum Modak who combined ayurvedic massage techniques with Iyengar yogic stretching. In 2009 she did a Sivananda  yoga teacher training for strength and self-development and to complement her work as a bodywork therapist.   She also completed a further hatha yoga teacher training course in Tiruvannamalai, India in 2018, both as a refresher and as continuing professional development for class yoga teaching.   In 2011 she trained in Esalen® Bodywork which is a full body bodywork/massage from the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California.  It is a combination of various techniques – it’s influences being the movement of the Pacific Ocean, sensory awareness, Swedish massage, oriental medicine and the meridians, meditation, Gestalt practice and the deeper work borrowed from Ida Rolf’s teachings and neural somatic integration and Trager’s passive movement - to awaken the body/mind.    Offering presence and skilful touch Katrina offers a meditation of the body, using long strokes, compressions, deep tissue work, rocking  and myofascial release, creating a free-flow, intuitive  session, unique each time to both giver and receiver, that re-aligns & liberates & restores back to balance and connection.
